But, if you’ve never listened to SWS or are open to change then this is a must-listen. If you only liked the heavier, punk songs of their first albums you may want to avoid this one. Some of the standout tracks in the album include “Empire to Ashes”, one of the heavier tracks and the one I’ve often found myself playing on repeat and the album’s namesake “Gossip” which has a sound all on its own that I don’t think I’ve ever heard in a song before.Īll in all, the album is very enjoyable and one of their best ones yet.
There is something for everything in this album and I’ve often found myself singing or dancing along.
The result is a very diverse album with the the tone switching dramatically from one song to the next. Many songs in Gossip have a reminiscent tone but Sleeping with Sirens has let themselves explore ore unique sounds in order to formulate their own. However, it seems they’ve found a middle ground from Madness’s almost purely acoustic tracklist and the heavier songs that they became famous for. If you are going into the album expecting the heavier pop-punk music of their past you’re going to be disappointed. Sleeping with Sirens has come out with their new album Gossip, and with it comes a brand new sound for the band that many did not expect.
